Scientist Plasma Hydrodynamics (m/f/d)

Your mission
​In the position of Scientist Plasma Hydrodynamics you will support the physics department in code development and hydrodynamical simulations leading to target design.


  •  Develop and implement physics modules for a 3D radiation-hydrodynamical code 
  •  Set-up, perform and analyze simulations of thermonuclear fusion in advanced fuels
  • Work collaboratively with other scientists (theorists and experimentalists) and engineers  on matching simulation and experimental results, providing guidance on experimental setups and diagnostics required
Your profile
  • Ph.D. in Physics or a related field plus postdoctoral research experience, or equivalent breadth and depth of experience
  • Experience in High-Performance Computing and code development for massively parallel architectures
  • Knowledge in the fields of compressible fluid dynamics, nuclear physics, and the physics of dense plasmas
  • Recognition as a resource or high impact contributor as evidenced by conference presentations or publication in refereed journals
  • Excellent proficiency in English
  • Outstanding coding expertise
  • Proactive, structured work
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of initiative
  • Exceptional work ethic and a deep sense of accountability
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to multi-task, working on conflicting priorities simultaneously, while always meeting deadlines and high standards of work quality
